International was originally founded in 1994 as Innovative Surveillance Technology and came about as a result of a management buyout in October, 2006. Don DiFrisco, President & CEO of Innovative at the time, orchestrated a management buyout; acquiring all of the assets of Innovative including the National Intelligence Academy (NIA). IST is now headquartered in 13,000 square feet located in Deerfield Beach, FL.
